A few points:

Me personally, I dropped this packaging years ago. When features slightly grow this becomes hard to manage. I doing packaging per feature which separates code nicely. In my personal project I have package per feature but those packages are hard to keep up to date and compatible with one another so now am looking for a solution for that too :D
